Below are some of the resources that I have found helpful for building oral language skills. I would love to hear any tips on teaching Spanish and Urdu to our kids as they know very little at this time
Spanish:
I love this kids Loteria game for building Spanish vocabulary.
We also have a number of bilingual books.
We listen to Spanish music but mostly Reggaeton and those lyrcis are far from child friendly (eek Bad Buddy).
The best thing for getting our kids to attempt using Spanish has been our trip to Puerto Rico. Can't wait to go back.
English
I found the felt finger pupper theaters at Target's Bullseye playground a year or two ago and I think they are great for encouraing story telling and learning about character, setting, and plot.
I received the Table Topics as a gift one year from a family member and my kids love picking a topic to discuss
They also love presenting items for show and tell, we have a little microphone we sometimes use for this
Urdu
Really hope to improve here this year
Thus far my kids know only a few words from listening to me talk to relatives
